Infertility is a major concern worldwide and in the Jewish community in particular.
Experts in infertility and reproductive medicine will partner with experts in law, ethics and Halakha to explain, discuss, and debate these new biotechnologies from various perspectives in order to understand more fully the moral benefits and detriments that they encompass. The conference will focus on two ethically challenging biotechnologies, namely mitochondrial transplantation therapy and reproductive cloning.
Panelists include: Dr. John D. Loike, Director for the Center for Ethics, Columbia University; Dr. Susan Lobel, Metropolitan Reproductive Medicine; Rabbi Tzvi Flaum, Lander College for Women; Dr. Dieter Egli, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons; Rabbi Dr. Moshe Tendler, Yeshiva University
