About
To foster the biomedical and health sciences component of our research enterprise, we established a Biomedical and Health Sciences Research Council to:
- develop Touro College and University System-wide research initiatives aimed at stimulating scholarly activity, increase university visibility, and ultimately improve extramural funding in the biomedical and health sciences; and,
- oversee the review of applications to the Bridge and Seed Funding Intramural Grants Program and provide award funding recommendations to the Touro's president.
The Council is chaired by the Provost for Biomedical Research/Chief Biomedical Research Officer, Dr. Salomon Amar, and membership on the Council includes representatives from our four major campuses: New York Medical College; Touro College (New York); Touro University California; and, Touro University Nevada.
